Epworth by the Sea

For 75 years, Epworth by the Sea, located on the lovely St. Simon's Island, Georgia, has served as a conference, retreat, and vacation destination for church and ministry groups. We are happily returning to this tranquil setting, full of natural beauty, for our 2026 Clergy and Spouse retreat.

At Bishop Julian's request, all licensed clergy are required to attend this retreat and spouses are warmly encouraged to participate.

Booth & Jones Motel: Recently updated with new furniture. Each room has a TV, mini fridge, and free wifi. There is elevator access to the second floor.

Pitts Motel: we have reserved two sets of connecting double queen room pairs, perfect for larger family groups with up to six children. Each room has a TV, mini fridge, and free wifi.

Reynolds Court Motel: standard rooms with two double beds, TV, mini fridge, microwave, and access to campus wifi. Note: rooms are not ADA accessible.

Will you need shuttle seats from Jacksonville airport?*

Yes, I/we need transport from Jacksonville Airport.
Shuttle seats are $15 each or $25 for a married couple. Shuttle seats for children may be reserved at no cost.

Your registration includes three nights of lodging from Sunday, October 11 through Wednesday, October 14. Meals begin Sunday evening with dinner and conclude Wednesday at midday with boxed lunches for you to take as you begin your journey home. Registration fees associated with the retreat are only enough to cover costs, but still represent a significant financial commitment for many clergy households.
